Only a CPAP User Truly Understands the Needs of a Fellow CPAP User

Only a CPAP User Truly Understands the Needs of a Fellow CPAP User

At Amron, we’re building a community that supports each other, because the health risks of sleep apnea are serious. Since I started using a CPAP in my late 50s, I noticed society hasn’t fully caught up with the needs of CPAP users. With 33 million CPAP users in the U.S., and growing by 9.5% annually, there’s a major gap in addressing this condition.

While restaurants, hotels, and grocery stores cater to dietary needs like gluten-free or sugar-free, no one has taken the lead in supporting sleep apnea. Amron is here to change that.

We’ve found that people are more likely to use their CPAP machines when they feel comfortable and can integrate them into their bedroom decor. That's why we're creating stylish, functional CPAP accessories to make life easier for users—like our CPAP covers, designed to blend with your decor while protecting your machine from dust, sprays, and damage. These covers are available in various colors and patterns and fold easily for travel, so your CPAP stays safe whether you're at home or on the go.

Amron is also introducing travel kits with distilled water and cleaning wipes, making CPAP maintenance hassle-free when traveling. We’re on a mission to create awareness and develop products that ensure sleep apnea is recognized and supported in everyday life—whether at home, in hotels, or even on cruises.

Our CPAP covers are designed to make your bedroom a more beautiful, relaxing space. New designs will launch every season.

Oh No! I Was Just Diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea—Now What?

Oh No! I Was Just Diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea—Now What?

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea later in life, and I likely had it for years before finding out. People can develop it at any age—even athletes who work out regularly. For me, a few extra pounds and age caused my throat to relax and collapse during sleep, whether I slept on my back or side.

The Remedy

Don't panic! You've received life-changing information that will help you feel better.

  • You’ll wake up refreshed.
  • No more worrying about nighttime strokes.
  • Clearer mind and greater stamina—thanks to a good night’s sleep!

Here are two key steps to take:

  1.  Work with your respiratory therapist or pulmonologist.
It takes time to get comfortable with a CPAP machine and its airflow levels. Don't give up! Your team will guide you on adjusting to the machine and advise on medications, as some sleeping pills are not safe to use during therapy.
  2.  Find the right mask for you.
Try different types. Initially, I was told to use a full-face mask, but it felt too restrictive. Since I mostly breathe through my nose, I switched to a smaller nasal mask with a two-nostril piece and a simple elastic band. Find what works best for you.

Most CPAP machines have a "ramp-up" feature, so the air only increases as you fall asleep, making it easier to adjust.

Sweet dreams from your friends at Amron!

My Husband Snores—Loudly!

My Husband Snores—Loudly!

A neighbor recently told me she was worried about her husband. Not only does he snore, causing their ten-year-old twin sons to giggle, but late at night, she often hears him gasp for air.

The Remedy

Today, it’s easier than ever to test for a serious condition called sleep apnea. It’s common, but dangerous if untreated. Sleep apnea occurs when throat muscles relax and block airflow (obstructive sleep apnea), or when the brain fails to send the right signals to breathe (central sleep apnea).

Her husband’s gasping for air could one day be fatal or cause a stroke

What to Do

If this sounds familiar, see your doctor and ask for a sleep apnea test. You’ll receive a simple home kit to monitor your sleep. Once returned, the doctor will interpret your results, showing how often you wake up and how much stress it puts on your heart. Don’t wait—save your health and possibly your life, like my neighbor is doing for her husband and the father of her children.
